The "Brigade" learned about sports media and journalism. Before the game we toured the press box and watched pre-game workouts on the sideline. After the game the "Brigade" had a meet and greet with London in the tunnel!

In October "London's Brigade" learned "American History Through the Camera Lens!" The "Brigade" visited the Newseum, an interactive museum that demonstrates the importance that media has played in shaping American history. After the visit, the "Brigade" toured BET studios. Our goal is to introduce our "Brigade" to media and journalism professions.

Part of our mission is to expand the career aspirations of our participants. In an attempt to drive home our mission we decided to bring our kids to B.Smith. A restaurant created by black woman. When you dream and work hard, ALL things are possible for ALL people.

After the tour, we took the kids to meet Rep. Eleanor Norton. Rep. Norton represents the District of Columbia. Our goal was to teach the children leadership skills...what better way to do that than to take then to meet one of their leaders.

I took a group of students from MacFarland Middle School to the Capitol. This event was the kick off event for my "London's Brigade" Mentoring Network.
